The Accuracy score on Google Shopping product APIs
This score, out of 100, shows how much of a product's Google Shopping page a provider's call returns. We call each provider and ask for the product by the product's catalog ID. For each product, we count the parts the answer held, such as the title and each store's price. We divide that count by the number of parts we count for that product. We count a part on a product when a live provider's answer held that part. We count each part from any provider's answer when fewer than two live providers found the product. For a part made of items, such as images or offers, we count the items in the answer. We divide the number of items by the largest number of items in any one of those answers. For an offer's part, such as delivery, we count the offers that held that part. We score a provider whose plans say answers can be old the same way as a live provider. Then we average the results over all products. Each product counts the same. A product the call didn't find counts as 0. We compare a provider that ran on fewer products with the other providers on those same products. A provider can't score higher by running only on easy products. We lower the score when we test the call on fewer products than the benchmark has.
