The Accuracy score on Google Play search APIs

This score, out of 100, shows how much of a search's results page a provider's call returns. We send each provider the words of a search, as a person types them in Google Play's US store. We read Google Play's search page for the same search within 10 minutes of the call. Google Play's search page lists the apps for a search. A part is a detail of an app, such as the name or the price. We count a part when Google Play's search page shows the part or the provider's answer holds the part. We score 0 on every part of an app that the provider's answer leaves out. If the provider's call has no field for a part, we score that part 0. We check each value the provider sends against Google Play's search page. A value that doesn't match the page counts as missing. For each part, we count the apps where the provider's answer held the part. We divide the number of those apps by the number of apps where we count the part. Then we average the shares of all the parts we count for the search. We ignore an app that the provider's answer lists and Google Play's search page doesn't list. We ignore the order of the apps. The order changes between two reads of the page. We average the results over all searches. Every search counts the same. A search scores 0 when the provider's answer lists none of the apps on Google Play's search page. We compare a provider that ran on fewer searches with the other providers on those same searches. A provider can't score higher by running only on easy searches. We lower the score when we test the call on fewer searches than the benchmark has.
