The Data score on App Store APIs

This score, out of 100, shows how much of an app's App Store page a provider's call returns. We call each provider and ask for the app by the App Store ID. For each app, we count the parts the answer held, such as the price and the screenshots. We divide the number of parts the answer held by the number of parts we count for the app. We say an app has a part when any live provider's answer held that part. We also count a part that Apple's own records show for the app. Apple's own records are the app's App Store page and iTunes lookup, read 1 to 5 minutes after the calls. We count each part from any provider's answer when fewer than two live providers found the app. We check each value against Apple's own records. A value that matches neither record counts as missing. For a part made of items, such as screenshots, we count the items in the answer. We divide the item count by the most items any answer or Apple's page showed. We score a provider whose plans say answers can be old the same way as a live provider. Then we average the results over all apps. Each app counts the same. An app the call didn't find counts as 0. We compare a provider that ran on fewer apps with the other providers on those same apps. A provider can't score higher by running only on easy apps. We lower the score when we test the call on fewer apps than the benchmark has.
