The Data score on search autocomplete APIs

We score each provider out of 100. The score counts how many of Google's suggestions the provider returns. We also check which fields come with each suggestion. We send the start of a search, in the United States and in English. At the same time, we read Google's own suggestions for the same search. We count a suggestion when Google also shows that suggestion. We also count a suggestion that another provider returns. For each query, we divide the count by the length of the longest list. We check how many suggestions have each field, such as the relevance and the type. We average the scores over all queries, each query counting the same. A query where the call returned no suggestion Google shows counts as 0. We compare a provider that ran on fewer queries with the other providers on those same queries. A provider can't score higher by running only on easy queries. We lower the score when we test the call on fewer queries than the benchmark has.
