The Data score on Realtor.com property APIs

This score, out of 100, shows how much of a property's Realtor.com page a provider's call returns. We call each provider and ask for the property by the property's Realtor.com link or property ID. We can't read Realtor.com's page, so we compare the providers' answers with each other. For each property, we count the parts the answer held, such as the price and the photos. We divide that count by the number of parts any provider's answer held for that property. For a list, such as photos or price history, we count the items in the answer. We divide the number of items by the most items any answer held for that property. For facts and features, we count the lines each provider's answer filled. We count a number, such as a price, as missing when two other providers agree on a different number. Then we average each property's share over all properties. Each property counts the same. A property the call didn't find counts as 0. We compare a provider that ran on fewer properties with the other providers on those same properties. A provider can't score higher by running only on easy properties. We lower the score when we test the call on fewer properties than the benchmark has.
