People Data Labs alternative: LinkedIn profiles by URL, at the provider's price
People Data Labs sells workforce data: a person dataset you query by API (enrichment, search, identity), company and job posting data, and bulk license feeds, on a free tier, a Pro plan from $98 a month and Enterprise contracts. Its Person Enrichment API takes what you have, an email, a name and company or a LinkedIn URL, and answers the matching record from its dataset.
If what you send is LinkedIn URLs, there's a cheaper way. Right now we have 2 live LinkedIn profile APIs that we trust: Up2Data and HarvestAPI. You send the provider's own request to api.datacircle.dev, with your Datacircle key. That's the only change. Up2Data costs $1.25 per 1,000 profiles found, and a profile it can't find is free. No plan, no subscription: a balance from $5, and a $5 credit at signup.
What it costs, next to People Data Labs
Per 1,000 people, each price read from the vendor's own page in October 2026; People Data Labs' from its person pricing page (Pro: $98 a month for 350 credits, 20% off billed yearly).
| API | Per 1,000, smallest purchase | Per 1,000, lowest without sales | Not found | Free to start |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Datacirclethrough Up2DataFunds never expire | $1.25, from a $5 balance | $1.25, no plan | free | $5 at signup (4,000 profiles) |
| Datacirclethrough HarvestAPI | $3.70, from a $5 balance | $3.70, no plan | $2.30 per 1,000 lookups, HarvestAPI's | the same $5 credit |

The two don't buy the same thing. A People Data Labs credit buys its whole record, with a work email and a phone where it has them (hidden on the free plan). A Datacircle call buys the LinkedIn profile behind the URL, as it is today, without an email. Every vendor's price for a person with a work email: B2B data API pricing compared.
The same lookup, through Datacircle
A person by LinkedIn URL, as People Data Labs documents it in its enrichment quickstart:
curl -X GET \
'https://api.peopledatalabs.com/v5/person/enrich?api_key=xxxx&profile=linkedin.com/in/seanthorne'Through Datacircle with Up2Data, the URL goes in a JSON body and the X-Data-Provider header names the provider:
curl -X POST "https://api.datacircle.dev/v1/profiles/enrich" \
-H "Authorization: Token $DATACIRCLE_API_KEY" \
-H "X-Data-Provider: up2data" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/seanthorne"}'People Data Labs matches your input to a record and scores the match (a likelihood from 1 to 10, its docs say). Up2Data answers its own JSON for the profile at that URL, under data: name, headline, location, current company, the full job history, education and skills. Every field: LinkedIn Profile API in the docs. The same call for a whole CSV: get LinkedIn profile data with Python.
What People Data Labs does that Datacircle doesn't
- Matching without a LinkedIn URL: an email, a phone, a name with a company or a location (its inputs).
- Searching people and companies by title, location, skills or size, and company, job posting and IP data.
- Work emails and phones in the API's answer, on its paid plans.
- Bulk delivery: license feeds and Snowflake or Databricks shares, on Enterprise contracts (its guide).
If you need those, People Data Labs is built for them. If you have LinkedIn URLs and want each profile as it is today, at the provider's own price, that's Datacircle.
What's different
Live. Each request goes to the provider and gets the profile as it is today. People Data Labs answers from its dataset, which its own guide says gets a full refresh on a recurring cadence, commonly monthly.
Every answer carries datacircle_meta: the provider that answered, what the call cost and your balance after it. A call that fails is not charged. Or send the same URL to HarvestAPI, at $3.70 per 1,000, with X-Data-Provider: harvestapi; HarvestAPI also bills a profile it can't find ($0.0023).
Free: 10M+ U.S. B2B leads, as a flat file. Download it at datacircle.dev. Add $50 to your account: you get $50 of API PLUS the flat file. Or invite 3 people who sign up. What's in it: the B2B data co-op.
