Clay alternative: LinkedIn profiles at the provider's price
Clay buys data for you from its 150+ data partners and charges it in Data Credits. A LinkedIn profile is 0.5 Data Credits and an Action in the example of its help doc, and its paid plans start at $185 a month for 2,500 Data Credits.
Datacircle is one REST call: the profile's URL and your Datacircle key. Each profile costs the provider's own price, $1.25 per 1,000 through Up2Data, and a profile it can't find is free. There is no plan: you add funds to a balance, from $5. And if you keep Clay, a Clay table can call it.
Clay's plans, spent on LinkedIn profiles
Each plan as Clay's pricing page gives it in October 2026, and the LinkedIn profiles its Data Credits take at 0.5 each, if that's all you spend them on:
| Plan | A month | Billed yearly | Data Credits a month | Actions a month | Profiles a month, at most | Per 1,000 profiles |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 100 | 500 | 200 | free, up to 200 rows a table |
| Launch | $185 | $167 a month | 2,500 | 15,000 | 5,000 | $37.00 ($33.40 yearly) |
| Growth | $495 | $446 a month | 6,000 | 40,000 | 12,000 | $41.25 ($37.17 yearly) |
Counting the Data Credits alone, 1,000 profiles take 500: $25.00 at $0.05 each, where Clay's prices start, and $19.13 at its largest tier on the page, 600,000 a year for $1,913 a month. Each profile also takes an Action. Past a plan's credits, a top-up on Launch or Growth costs 30% more.

Keep Clay, call Datacircle from it
Clay takes your own API keys: "Each run will count as one Action, but no Data Credit will be used," its pricing page says. Its HTTP API integration, on Growth and Enterprise, calls any API from a table, one Action a row. You send the provider's own request to api.datacircle.dev, with your Datacircle key. That's the only change. For Up2Data:
curl -X POST "https://api.datacircle.dev/v1/profiles/enrich" \
-H "Authorization: Token $DATACIRCLE_API_KEY" \
-H "X-Data-Provider: up2data" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates"}'In an HTTP API column, the same request reads:
Method: POST
Endpoint: https://api.datacircle.dev/v1/profiles/enrich
Headers: Authorization: Token <your Datacircle key>
X-Data-Provider: up2data
Content-Type: application/json
Body: {"url": "/LinkedIn URL"}/LinkedIn URL is the column with each row's profile URL, as Clay references a column in a body. Clay's help suggests saving the headers once as an HTTP API (Headers) account, so your key isn't shown in the table. Each row then takes one of your Clay Actions and $0.00125 from your Datacircle balance, for the profile as it is today. Every answer carries datacircle_meta: which provider answered, what the call cost, your balance after it. Up2Data takes $1 a day per account (800 profiles), with a shared daily limit for all customers, then answers 429 until 00:00 UTC; HarvestAPI has no daily limit. For a table past it, HarvestAPI's request: a GET to https://api.datacircle.dev/linkedin/profile?url= and the URL, with X-Data-Provider: harvestapi, at $0.0037 a profile.
On Free or Launch, which don't have the HTTP API, send the same request from your code: a whole CSV of LinkedIn URLs in get LinkedIn profile data with Python. Or without code: Use it from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor: add api.datacircle.dev/mcp as an MCP server. Both providers' requests and answers, field by field: LinkedIn Profile API in the docs.
Emails: Data Credits, or the free file
The same example in Clay's help counts 0.5 Data Credits an email found, so 1,000 emails are 500 Data Credits, $25.00 at $0.05 each. Free: 10M+ U.S. B2B leads, as a flat file. Download it at datacircle.dev. Of its 9,521,154 U.S. people, 2,790,286 have an email and 4,016,020 a mobile phone, each with a current title and a LinkedIn profile URL, in one download. What each column holds: the free US B2B leads dataset; a list cut from it with one query: build a free B2B leads list with SQL.
What Clay does that Datacircle doesn't
- 150+ data partners in one table, and waterfalls that try one provider after another until one answers.
- Emails and, from Launch, phone numbers, from those partners.
- Claygent, its AI agent with web research, for any data point you can describe.
- Signals: job changes, promotions, new hires, company news and, on Growth, web intent.
- Its own email sequencer, CRM sync on Growth, ad audiences.
If you build your outbound in Clay's tables, Clay is made for that. If what you buy there is LinkedIn profiles by URL, Datacircle sells the same profile at the provider's price, $1.25 per 1,000, from your code, your AI assistant or your Clay table.
What's different
Live. Each request goes to the provider and gets the profile as it is today. A call that fails is not charged, and every answer says what it cost.
Add $50 to your account: you get $50 of API PLUS the flat file. Or invite 3 people who sign up. What's in it: the B2B data co-op. Every LinkedIn profile API's price: LinkedIn profile API pricing compared.
