Datacircle

How our pricing works

Datacircle is a data co-op. Right now we have 2 live LinkedIn profile APIs that we trust: Up2Data and HarvestAPI. Every call through Datacircle is priced from what the provider's data cost us, with no markup. $2.375 per 1,000 through Up2Data (a profile it can't find is free), $3.70 per 1,000 through HarvestAPI.

This page shows where those two prices come from: what we bought from each provider, why our price can be above the price a provider shows for a bigger package, and what makes it move. Our prices are worked out from our purchases, never typed by hand; the providers' packages are from their own pricing pages or docs, read in October 2026.

Our price starts from what we paid for the package we bought

A provider sells its data in packages: the bigger the package, the less each profile costs. We buy one package at a time, and our price starts from what one profile cost us in the last package we bought, so that what members (everyone who calls through Datacircle) are charged for their calls adds up to what we paid for the data.

Why our price can be above a provider's own price

A provider's pricing page shows its whole ladder, down to the price of its biggest package. We pay for the package we bought, so someone who buys a bigger one directly can pay less per profile than we do.

HarvestAPI's packages, from its pricing page
HarvestAPI packagePricePer 1,000 profiles
Starter$20$6.40
Basic$80$5.10
Pro$280$3.70ours, bought 2026-09-21
Business$780$3.20

On HarvestAPI's pricing page, the $780 Business package gives $3.20 per 1,000 profiles, less than our $3.70. That isn't a markup: on the Pro package we bought, HarvestAPI bills us $3.70 per 1,000, the same cost HarvestAPI reports in its response to each call.

Up2Data's credit packs, from its docs
Up2Data creditsPricePer 1,000 profiles found
10,000$25$2.50ours, bought 2026-10-10
100,000$200$2.00
1,000,000$1,500$1.50
10,000,000$12,500$1.25
50,000,000$45,000$0.90
100,000,000$70,000$0.70
250,000,000$125,000$0.50

Up2Data's list runs from $2.50 per 1,000 at 10,000 credits down to $0.50 at 250,000,000, one credit a profile found. Our last purchase was 10,000 credits, so from 100,000 credits ($200), buying directly costs less per profile than our $2.375.

The same happens when a provider lowers its prices. The credits we hold were bought at the old price, so our price stays at what they cost us until we buy again. For a while, it can look like a markup. It isn't one: our price is worked out from what the credits cost us. When we buy a bigger or cheaper package, what a profile costs us drops, and our price drops with it, for every member.

What makes our price move

Our price is computed by code from every purchase's receipt, never typed by hand, and it moves for two reasons.

A new purchase. Our price starts from what one profile cost us in the last package we bought.

Free credits. Providers sometimes give us credits: Up2Data gave us 10,771 before our first purchase. Sold for nothing, they would make the price low for a while, then jump when they ran out. Instead, we spread their value over the next profiles as a discount of at most 5% off our last purchase's price, until it's used up.

Up2Data$2.375 per 1,000, 5% off our last purchase's $2.50, while the free credits' value is spread over the next profiles. Announced: $2.375 per 1,000 for the next 210,770 profiles found, then $2.45, a smaller step (2% off) for what's left to give back, then $2.50 again unless we buy at another price.
HarvestAPI$3.70 per 1,000, our last purchase's price, with no step today.

Questions

Why is your price above the provider's own price?

Our price is what the data cost us, at the package we bought. Bought directly, a bigger package costs less per profile; when we buy one, our price drops with it.

Is it cheaper to buy from HarvestAPI directly?

From its Business package ($780), yes: $3.20 per 1,000 profiles, against our $3.70. From Starter ($20) or Basic ($80), no: $6.40 and $5.10. HarvestAPI's credits expire a year after they're bought; through Datacircle, $3.70 per 1,000 from a $5 balance that never expires.

Is it cheaper to buy from Up2Data directly?

From its 100,000-credit pack ($200) up, yes: $2.00 per 1,000 profiles found, against our $2.375, down to $0.50 at 250,000,000 credits. Its smallest pack, 10,000 credits for $25, is $2.50 per 1,000; through Datacircle, $2.375 from a $5 balance.

When does the price change?

When what the data cost us changes: a new purchase, or free credits from a provider. Each step is announced ahead, in our docs' How we price.

Is there a daily limit?

Up2Data takes $1 a day per account (421 profiles), with a shared daily limit for all customers, then answers 429 until 00:00 UTC; HarvestAPI has no daily limit.
